A Personal Trainer in Brighton & Hove – Please Read My Story:

I was clearly not identified as the superstar sporty kid at school, I remember training just as hard as any of the other kids, I would always try my best, but I never got picked for the team.

This de-motivated me somewhat and greatly knocked my confidence. I began to believe that when it came to sports and fitness I just wasn’t any good.

As I grew into my 20′s, I realised that I would need to exercise to stay slim, strong and healthy, so I decided to seek out infomation on how to get and stay healthy. Well what a minefield of infomation there was available. Its ten times worse now.

We Are All Confused!

  • Should I drink water or shouldn’t I?
  • Is coffee good or bad for me?
  • Are protein diets good or bad?

I was so overwhelmed and confused.

I eventually decided the only thing to do at that stage, was to make a start on my journey to fitness. So I joined a gym… What a daunting prospect that was, I was petrified. Who would have thought that one day I would become a Personal Trainer in Brighton and Hove?

Not Me!

Gym-a-phobia – its even got a name!

  • What would I wear?
  • What would all the other people think of me?
  • Would everyone else be in intimidating cliques where they all knew each other?
  • What if I injured myself or even worse, fell over infront of everyone?

I felt so scared by all the equipment, but I finally plucked up the courage and on a cold January morning spurred on by my excessive xmas mince pie consumption, I went to the gym for the first time.

It wasn’t half as bad as I thought it was going to be. Fortunately the gym instructor was a little more mature and made me feel welcome. The gym instructor designed a basic exercise programme for me and I started following it as best I could. As I became more familiar with the environment I would observe certain people in the gym that clearly knew what they were doing and I would copy their form and technique.

I Decided to study and become a Personal Trainer in brighton and Hove

I started enjoying my exercise for the first time in a very long time. I realised I needed more knowledge to get the results I wanted.

So I decided to start the long journey to educate myself on exercise and nutrition. I read Muscle and Fitness magazine every month, and tried out their various routines, I bought and read books written by some of the top female body builders and I started to understand how to get into shape and how to stay in shape.

As I became more knowledgable, My body, energy and fitness levels greatly improved.

I realised that with the correct training programme performed with the correct technique and intensity, combined with eating the right foods, anyone could literally change their body and therefore change their life.

I realised that most of my family, friends and work colleagues could really benefit from what I had learnt, so I decided to put a formal qualification to my 10 years of exercise experience and did A Personal Training Diploma and starting my career as a Personal Trainer in Brighton & Hove
