Blinded by my own salt – training for The Brighton Marathon

fitfoxy brighton marathon Blinded by my own salt training for The Brighton Marathon

FitFoxy Brighton Marathon Training

I’m training so hard for the Brighton Marathon right now, I’m concerned I may be responsible for wearing out the tarmac on my usual routes from Brighton to Ovingdean.
I’m well aware after the harsh winter we had, that the Brighton council needs all the spare tar it can get its mitts on to cover the vast array of pot holes it already has. So being the thoughtful type, for my 15 miler this Saturday I decided to run in the opposite direction away from Brighton towards Worthing and wear out their tarmac instead.

Christmas Diet

Trying to stay slim over the christmas period, christmas diet? forget it.
Yes I’m aware that I’m probably viewed as another one of those annoying preachers of fitness and health, and I’m regularly giving you advice on exercises for this and that etc, but I still believe that we all need a bit of time out now and then, so I decided to blog my christmas diet diary, which is more of a diary than a diet. I will Lose Weight – Determination

I will lose weight I will Lose Weight Determination

I Will Lose Weight

Once in a while I review my own fitness goals and have a look at the areas that I know need to be improved, normally ending up with a nagging voice in my head saying “I will lose weight“. I’m edging towards 42 years old and although I am a Personal Trainer, I tell you it still takes a lot of effort to keep myself in good shape.

I Will Lose Weight IF its easy!

It is so easy to become demoralised in today’s society, breast implants, liposuction corrective surgery is available to almost anyone. The media almost brain washes us into thinking that this is how the beautiful people live and if we want nice taut cellulite free thighs we can just go and pay to have the fat removed and become one of the “fabulous”. Thats not an option I aspire to, I do look in the mirror and see the emerging crows feet and the smile lines, I look a bit scary Read more…

Why Choose a Good Personal Trainer – Brighton and Hove

I would naturally assume that anyone looking for a Personal Trainer would be aiming to choose a good personal trainer, after all, you would not be very happy if a poorly skilled mechanic damaged your car instead of fixing it.

Choosing the Wrong Personal Trainer in Brighton and Hove could be a Big Mistake!

Part of being a Personal Trainer her in Brighton and Hove is to educate the public about what a good personal is, so it is my duty to be real and honest with you and to make unsuspecting people like yourself aware of the dangers of using the wrong personal trainer.

Dangerous Personal Trainers? (FitFoxy Brighotn and Hove)

Brighton and Hove Personal Training Clients Become Socially Trapped!

Let me explain, most personal training clients are referrals, they use the Personal Trainer in Brighton and Hove that their friend uses and recommends, But…

  • Has you friend really choosen a good personal trainer?
  • Has your friend done any research on what a good personal trainer should do?
  • Does your friend understand what to expect of a good Personal Trainer?

Personal Training is a nice job, and most Personal Trainers are nice friendly, laid back people. The Personal Trainer / Client relationship is normally quite close as the Personal Trainer is helping the client deal with an area of their life that most people feel insecure about,

So if you start using a Personal Trainer in Brighton and Hove that may well be a nice person, but regards their job as just Fun or is not so good at their job, how are you going to tell them that you want to train with someone else, or that they are frankly just having a laugh with your time, health and money?

Now, I do not wish to use scare tactics here, But…

Choose the right Brighton and Hove Personal Trainer

“Choosing the wrong Personal Trainer in Brighton or Hove may very well ensure that you fail before you put a single foot in the gym and could even cause you serious “injury”

Don’t take my word for it, just have a look at this article…

Article about bad personal trainers / personal training – Brighton and Hove
Dangerous Personal Trainers?

Choose a Good Personal Trainer in Brighton and Hove, not a Dangerous One

Bad Personal Trainers are Dangerous Personal Trainers. Consider a Bad Personal Trainer could…

  • Cause You Serious injury
  • Waste thousands of your pounds
  • Seriously sabotage your chances of acquiring good Health
  • Seriously demotivate you and quash the motivation and commitment you have found to start to look after your health.

Choose a Good Personal Trainer in Brighton and Hove, No Second Chance

I am sure you will agree, that most people take some time to decide to improve their lifestyle, health and fitness, Agreed?

The timing and grouping of circumstances required to arrive at the decision to improve your life / health, is often complex, rare, fraught with emotional, financial, family and time challenges.

Consider how long it took you to make the decisions required to get you to read this article and possibly consider a Personal Trainer in Brighton & Hove

No, I mean truly stop for a second and reflect on how long this decision took.

Now do you really want to throw that opportunity away by dealing with someone that does not take your commitment seriously?

I didn’t think so!

Personal Training in Brighton and Hove Should be One to One – Period!

A Personal Trainer should ideally train one person at any given time!

However due to clients wanting to train together, last minute re-arrangements or demand for prime slots, on occasion, it is acceptable to train 2 people at the same time,

But, A trainer should NEVER train more than 2 people at any given time. This is called a circuit training class and can be bought at any local gym for £3 – £5 an class.

There is nothing personal about a circuit class and you will probably not accomplish your goals because it is impossible for the trainer to attend to your specific requirements.

Trx suspension trainer

You may not be that surprised that over almost 20 years of fitness training I have dabbled in a fair few different fitness crazes and gadgets. Let me see, there was the step, the slide, body pump, kangoo classes (now that was fun) stability balls, wobble boards, medicine balls. Where does it end? I still use most of this stuff and it is really effective and fun to mix into my clients PT sessions, but then I Read more…

Should you be Drinking Water to Lose Weight?

Drinking water to lose weight

I remember having a debate with my teacher in junior school many moons ago. I declared that water tasted horrible and he argued that water doesn’t have a taste so how could it taste horrible. Well as far as I was concerned if water didn’t have a taste it still went into the horrible bracket, therefore why on earth would I be inclined to Read more…
